Summer(?) Fete 21st July
The bad weather caused a change of plan for our Summer Fete but it didn’t actually stop it taking place.
The widespread flooding meant that the Brass Band couldn’t get to us and neither could some of the visitors. However, un-deterred, we transferred everything indoors and everyone who did manage to get here had an enjoyable afternoon as did the residents and staff.
Plenty of cream cakes and tea took our minds off the problems that the weather had brought and the various stalls did some brisk business.
New Palliative Wing will be open in 2007
Work is near completion on an ambitious extension at the nursing home. The new wing will be an 8 bed palliative centre with staff accommodation and a new kitchen. General refurbishment on the nursing home will also take place creating a brighter environment and an improved entrance to the home will make accessibility into the home easier. It can never be easy to take the decision that a loved but elderly family member should move into a nursing home but we aim to make the moving process as smooth and as welcoming as possible.
